MONOLITH
Mountain Monolith
“Monolith” explores the relationship between nature and abstraction.
Geometric, monolithic forms appear in expansive landscapes, disrupting the natural order and redefining the perception of the surroundings. These elements seem like alien intrusions into the seemingly untouched landscape, creating a tension between the familiar and the unknown.
The precise placement of the monoliths guides the viewer's eye and draws attention to details that would otherwise remain undiscovered. The images invite viewers to look at the landscapes several times and discover new, surprising elements again and again. The monolith serves as an anchor point that questions the familiar and opens up new perspectives.
“Monolith” plays with the duality of reality and fiction and encourages viewers to question their own patterns of perception. The series is a visual experiment that invites viewers to rethink the boundaries between nature and abstraction and to discover the subtle nuances of the hidden in the obvious.
This series was exhibited in autumn 2024 as a solo exhibition in Vienna presented on large scale prints. More Details at the bottom of this page.
